An introductory language-learning program; Level 1 familiarises students with basic Swahili words, phrases and language structure. Through interaction and enjoyable exercises and activities, students develop the confidence to converse in Swahili. Student management system assists parents in planning lessons, monitoring students’ achievements and generating progress reports.
Lesson Planning
Many parents are intimidated by the notion of teaching a foreign language at home. They may have never tried homeschooling before and the thought of structuring a course based around a language they don’t even speak can be overwhelming. Alongside the option to create their own lesson plan, Rosetta Stone offers parents two preset options to simplify the process and assist in enrolling students into a course tailored to their individual goals. The two plans are as follows:
Comprehensive Lesson Track
This plan is recommended for parents wishing to use Rosetta Stone as the main hub of their students language learning experience. The Comprehensive Lesson Track provides the most in-depth tuition, guiding students through seven exercises and three tests per lesson.
Accelerated Lesson Track
Students wanting to progress more quickly through the program should choose this option. The Accelerated Lesson Track offers tuition in all vital language skills but contains only four exercises and two tests per lesson.
Testing
During their journey through the program, Rosetta Stone Homeschool tests each student at regular intervals. Tests follow recently completed exercises and are centred on measuring particular language abilities. Until the student gains an acceptable result in the test, it will continue to be repeated. Parents can set the required result in the both the Accelerated and Comprehensive tracks as well as in their own lesson plans. Once the student scores highly enough, they can move on.
Reporting
Student management system grants parents access to detailed information about their students’ progress, such as:
- Exercises completed by the student
- Current lesson activity
- Exercises and test scores
- Time spent learning

Rosetta Stone Homeschool Level 1 introduces the building blocks of vocabulary and vital language structure, providing tuition in areas including:
- Simple conversation skills
- Meeting and greeting
- Colours, adjectives, and numbers
- Prepositions, definite and indefinite articles
- Singular and plural nouns
- Family relations, the five senses, hours of the clock
- Compare and contrast
- First and second person pronouns and possessive pronouns
